On November 21, 1875 thirteen pioneering souls started a small family church in a one-room schoolhouse near Mission San Luis Rey in what is now Oceanside, California. They called it simply, The Christian Church at San Luis Rey because it was one of the first congregations of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination in Southern California.
The biblical narrative is often dominated by a few famous names, but what about the countless others whose stories are just as powerful? Join us starting Sunday, September 7th, at 10 am for our new fall teaching series that will explore the Bible in a whole new light.

The OSC Book Club will start up again in September and we want your help picking our next round of selections! This year our monthly sessions will include the authors live on Zoom! This means you will have the opportunity to meet the authors and ask them your questions.
Season 11 of The Collective Table podcast will highlight stories of empathy. While some Christian leaders are promoting the idea that empathy is a sin, we think it is a vital aspect of love. Can you recall a time when your empathy for someone moved you to take action in ways that stretched you to grow?
