Join a coMMUNITY GROUP
Community groups typically gather in the spring and fall. There are two kinds of Community Groups at OSC: Collective Tables and Learning Groups.
Collective Tables
Collective Tables are small dinner gatherings, usually in homes but sometimes in pubs or coffee shops. The purpose is to create safe and welcoming spaces where people can encourage each other on their spiritual journeys in non-judgemental relationships. The Collective Table Podcaqst is our dialogue starter for these groups, but the conversation is tyically free-flowing and often un-structured. These groups meet in-person around North San Diego County.
Learning Groups
Learning Groups gather around specific readings, topics, or practices. The purpose is to dig deeper. This may be centered on theological reading (like our Zoom Book Club), creative practices (like The Artist’s Way) or social justice issues (like “Living Undivided”). These groups usually meet in a virtual or hybrid format.

• Hosts: Deeanne & Garret Akerson.
• When: Our Group typically meets twice per month on Monday nights from 5:15pm-7:30pm. Exact dates vary.
• Where: Encinitas/Leucadia. RSVP for address.
• Food: Potluck dinner, bring something to share!
• Kids: Children are welcome but there is no childcare provided.
• Alcohol: Occasionally beer or wine.
• Open/Closed: This group is currently OPEN to new members.

• When: Meets every other Sunday from 5:30 - 7:30 PM.
• Where: Laguna Hill area (south Orange County). RSVP below for address.
• Study: This group generally dialogues about the Sunday teaching.
• Food: Dinner provided by members on alternating schedule.
• Kids: Kids are welcome, but childcare is not provided.
• Alcohol: Occasionally beer or wine for special gatherings.

Join us every third Wednesday night for dinner and open-minded, friendly dialogues on faith, theology, and how we live in light of Jesus’ teaching!
• Hosts: Ron & Sue Dwyer-Voss
• Where: Beer Town, 507 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside.
• When: Meets every third Wednesday from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.
• Food: Menu available but you aren’t required to order food.
• Kids: Kids welcome, but no childcare is provided.
• Alcohol: Available on the menu.
• Open/Closed: This group is open for RSVP’s.

• Where: Rotates between South Oceanside and Encinitas.
• Study: This group discussed various faith topics over dinner.

• Alcohol: Occasionally, beer or wine may be served.
