Membership @ OSC
Membership at OSC matters because we are a congregational church, so members play an important role in making our most important decisions as a community. However, we are a relatively informal congregation. Membership in a healthy community of faith is more relational than institutional. Sometimes we say we know you’re a member because you show up, speak up, and offer up. Here’s what we mean:
Show up: Belonging at OSC means showing up to gatherings, groups, or events often enough that you are getting to know others and becoming known by others.
Speak up: Belonging here also means investing relationally in healthy community processes by being your authentic self and truthfully sharing your story.
Offer up: Lastly, belonging to a genuine community means pitching-in to help when you’re able, and giving your time or charitable gifts to help shoulder the burden.

The Oceanside Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit and we rely on the gifts and donations of people just like you. With the rise of hateful and harmful religious rhetoric in the United States, it has never been more important to support an inclusive, inspiring, and impactful expression of Christian spirituality.
