Details & Requirements:
Cost: $175 registration fee paid using the form below (covers permits, canoe rentals, supplies) + $100 for 1 night at hotel that you will book on your own = $275 total.
Bring a picture ID. It will be checked by the canoe outfitters on Friday.
Meeting + Departure Location: Hoover Dam Lodge (18000 US-93, Boulder City, NV 89005)
Meeting Thurs., Oct. 6th from 6-8 PM at Boulder Dam Brewing Company (453 Nevada Way, Boulder City, NV 89005). This is a casual meet-up; come when/if you can.
Departing by 1pm Sun., Oct. 9th.
Must find transportation to Hoover Dam Lodge. Carpooling is arrangeable.
Must be moderately comfortable with physical activity.
Must be 18+ to attend.
Must review the packing list and inform us of anything you might need. You do NOT need expensive equipment, we can source supplies together or help.

Camping experience is preferred as we will be in very remote locations, but NOT required as experts will guide you.
Canoe info: Average weight capacity - 750-900 lbs. Average length - 14.5-17' long. Average width - 34-37 inches. In general soft storage bags are more adaptable than hard plastic for packing things. If you're worried about things getting wet, you can simply cover whatever you have with a trash bag or something like this backpack rain cover.
You will drop off your equipment at the canoe launch site, and the parking lot is right there. The place they pick you up is part of the hotel parking.

Jeffrey P. Thomas.
Jeffrey Thomas is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) since 1994, working in the Psychotherapy field for approximately 30 years. He provides individual and couples psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. He was certified through the American Group Psychotherapy Association and currently is in Private Practice in the La Jolla area. He is a graduate of the adult psychoanalysis program from the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center and currently teaches at the institute. As a nature enthusiast, Jeff leads nature retreats for faith-based organizations that combine his skills as an LCSW and nature guide.
Rev. Alex Kip
Rev. Alex Kip is the Associate Pastor at Oceanside Sanctuary with a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) from Claremont School of Theology. Aside from his regular church duties, Alex frequently leads groups in nature experiences and contemplative practices. As Jeff’s aid, he will ensure everything runs smoothly, help answer questions, and organize logistics.
