Here at OSC, we're thrilled to announce our lineup of events throughout June dedicated to celebrating Pride Month! As an inclusive community, we're passionate about fostering a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and celebrated for exactly who they are. So, mark your calendars and get ready to join us for a month filled with love, acceptance, and vibrant celebrations of LGBTQ+ identity.
Pride By The Beach, June 1 from 12-6 PM.
Kick off the celebrations with Pride by the Beach on June 1st, from 12 - 6 PM, located at 330 N Coast Hwy in Oceanside. Organized by the North County LGBT Resource Center, this family-friendly event boasts live music and engaging activities. Swing by OSC's Queer Committee booth to adorn our rainbow prayer arch with ribbons, snap a selfie, and grab some fantastic queer saint stickers. Don't forget to tag us with #OceanPrideSanctuary!
Pride Sunday, June 2 @ 10 AM
Join us on June 2nd at 10 AM for a special Pride-themed Sunday gathering! Experience a vibrant QueerCom meet-and-greet followed by delicious food and warm fellowship after the service.
Book Club, June 6 @ 6:30 PM
Our June Book Club selection, "Walking The Bridge-less Canyon" by Kathy Baldock, offers a profound exploration of LGBTQ+ history. Baldock weaves together captivating stories and personal testimonies, shedding light on the social, medical, cultural, and religious discrimination experienced by these communities. Dive into this insightful narrative that emphasizes the intersection of conservative political and religious ideologies, especially in the late 1970s.
Light Up With Pride, June 13th @ 6:30 PM
