Our music team is growing

Music has been a distinctive strength at The Oceanside Sanctuary for many years. For over 10 years, we were blessed to have an amazing bluegrass gospel trio leading our music ministry. And for the past three and one-half years, OSC has been blessed to have Joey Pearson as our part-time music minister. However, as Joey’s full-time career in higher education continues to blossom, his increasing workload and travel schedule have made it challenging to continue his role as a staff member. Therefore, starting in October, Joey will transition to a contracted role as our primary worship leader.

We are excited that Joey can continue his ministry in this capacity at OSC. With Joey traveling more, we are fortunate to have other worship leaders stepping up to fill those gaps and we look forward to seeing our other leaders and band members grow in their gifts moving forward.

Joey, likewise, has expressed his gratitude to the board, our co-lead ministers, and the entire congregation for allowing him to grow in his ministry and calling over the past years. With your love and support, he has had the joy of writing more than 15 songs and empowering a diverse community of musicians, all contributing to a vibrant worship experience that reflects the heart of who we are. This change provides him the flexibility he needs as his career in higher education expands; however, his commitment to our music ministry and the values that guide our church remains strong. He is filled with excitement for this new chapter, continuing to serve and grow alongside you!

We always need more volunteers for the music ministry. If you are a singer or musician, we would love to hear from you! Click here to express your interest in volunteering and we will be in touch to meet up and talk about how you can join this ministry.
