As of 4 PM PST today, Friday August 18th, hurricane Hilary seems to have adjusted course for a direct hit on the San Diego area. Even though it will likely be downgraded to a tropical storm by Sunday, it is still expected to bring 40-70 mph winds, severe flooding, and likely power outages Sunday and Monday.
As with COVID, our first priority is people's safety. Given this, we have made the decision to cancel church this coming Sunday, August 20th out of an abundance of caution for the safety of those who would travel to our Oceanside campus for in-person services.

Be alert and take precautions
Due to these potentially extreme weather conditions, we recommend that you remain alert and take the following precautions:
Secure or move inside any outdoor items (A-frames, banners, furniture, sun umbrellas, etc.) that could become projectiles in high winds at home and in any outdoor departmental/office spaces on campus.
Keep your cellphone and other devices fully charged.
Assure you have any essential medications on hand.
Stay away from windows and glass doors, particularly when winds are strong.
Buy supplies such as flashlight, batteries, toiletries/hygiene items, and fill the gas in your vehicle.
If you encounter hazardous conditions while commuting, prioritize safety and avoid unnecessary risks.
Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you again next week!
