Volunteer Job Title: Sarah’s Hope Pantry Food Packer
Hourly Commitment: 4-8 hours a month. Monday from 9:30am-12:00pm. Every Monday is preferable, but at least 2x / month is required.

Description:
We are seeking 2 volunteers to help pack food for our guests at Sarah’s Hope Food Pantry. This task happens before our guests arrive and ensures food is evenly distributed amongst our guests.

The Opportunity:
We see feeding the hungry as an integral aspect of the gospel of Christ. Sarah’s Hope Food Pantry is run by volunteers who are passionate about alleviating food insecurity in Oceanside. Every month, we feed over 100+ families and or individuals who would otherwise go hungry. This position is an opportunity to meet real needs, form strong bonds with community members, and make a difference. We cannot do this work without volunteers like you.
Specific Duties:
Work closely with the Associate Pastor, Lead Volunteer, and packing team to pack food for pantry guests from 9:30 am -12:30 pm on Mondays.
At 9:30 am, you will help setup the food packing stations.
A little after, you will help our delivery partners unload their food for the day.
Our Lead Volunteer will then guide you in sorting, organizing, and packing food for each guest.
You will work in a very systematic, organized way to ensure food is distributed evenly.
At 11:30 am, all food will be packed, and you will ensure the “Guest Relations” team has what they need for the drive-thru to start at 12pm.
At the end, you will help break down the food packing area and ensure everything is clean.
You will have the opportunity to get food for yourself as well.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be comfortable taking direction and adjusting fairly quickly to the circumstances of the day. Candidates should be passionate about addressing food insecurity in Oceanside, highly reliable, and good communicators. You do not need to be a member of The Oceanside Sanctuary to participate..
