Live Church Services Return To The Oceanside Sanctuary

It’s time.

Friends, today the State of California updated their County Risk Levels. For the fourth consecutive week, San Diego County ranked in the second-lowest category, known as the Moderate or Orange Tier. According to our plan, that means we are ready to return to live and in-person Sunday Gatherings.

We are very excited to announce that our first Sunday back will be May 23rd, just in time for Pentecost.

We will still be taking precautions to ensure safe gatherings, so there are a few important details you need to know:

  • We will have two services, 10 AM and 11:15 AM (please note these times have been updated from our original announcement last month).

  • Our 10 AM gathering will be limited to 30 people.

  • Our 11:15 AM gathering will be limited to 60 people.

  • Masks will be required at all times, for all attendees.

  • We will have music, but we will not be singing as a congregation.

  • Our services for the first several weeks will be shorter than usual, about 30-35 minutes.

  • There will be no children’s classes until after June 15th, at the earliest, when California hopes to lift all restrictions.

A few important tips

If possible, use our overflow parking at the corner of Seagaze and Nevada. It’s a short walk to the church from there.

  • Please do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness. Be safe. Stay at home and watch our online gatherings on YouTube and Facebook instead until you are 100% healthy.

  • If you’re not ready to meet live, that’s okay. Again, do whatever you need to do to be safe. We will still be offering our online worship gatherings at Youtube and Facebook for our congregants at a distance and for those who choose to stay home.

  • Make a plan for parking. Because we are hosting two services, we expect parking to be more scarce than usual. Walk or carpool if you are able. If you need to drive, we encourage you to park at the empty lot at 801 Mission Ave, which is actually on the corner of Seagaze and Nevada St.

  • We strongly encourage you to RSVP for every Sunday you plan to attend. This will ensure you have a seat at these limited-attendance gatherings. We will cut-off admission when we reach our limits of 30 people (10 AM) and 60 people (11:15 AM).
