Hello OSC family,
March is here and we are in the midst of Lent. Lent is, of course, a time to reflect on our mortality and failings as humans. That may seem too somber to some, but if we are all going to die someday (like the preacher says in Ecclesiastes) then all the more reason to make our lives count today!
In that spirit, here are my Top 5 Things coming up this month at The Oceanside Sanctuary:
1. Surfrider Beach Cleanup, Sat Mar 7th @ 9 AM
Join the Justice Works team this Saturday at 9 AM for a fun beach cleanup with the Surfrider Foundation. No need to RSVP, just meet up on the north side of the Oceanside Pier at 9 AM. I hope to see you there!
2. Sunday Gathering, Mar 9th @ 10:30 AM
This week's Sunday worship Gathering will feature Jenell Coker leading a wrap-up dialogue session for our most recent 9-week teaching series, "Presence." You can click here to catch up on any of those 9 episodes before Sunday.
3. Easter Choir Auditions, Sun Mar 8th @ 1 PM
Yes, we are going to have an Easter choir! We are looking for 10-12 singers to practice weekly for 5 weeks. Those auditioning will participate in a short vocal "warm up" and sing the chorus from "What a Beautiful Name." Please reply to this email or call the church office if you would like to participate.
4. Homeless Resource Fair, Sat Mar 15th @ 8-11 AM
Join us for our monthly Homeless Resource Fair right here at Oceanside Sanctuary in partnership with Oceanside Homeless Resource. Click here to volunteer for the March Fair.
5. Rick Love Memorial Service, Mar 21st @ 2 PM
The memorial service for our dear friend Rick Love, church member and founder of Peace Catalyst, will be held here at The Oceanside Sanctuary. All are welcome.
