If we have not gotten the chance to meet yet, my name is Claire and I am thrilled to serve as your Youth & Family Minister here at Oceanside Sanctuary. In the coming weeks, one of my goals is to reach out to each and every one of you - I want to get to know you and your family’s passions, questions, and needs so that we can continue the beautiful work of community among our kids, teenagers, and families at OSC.
The Oceanside Sanctuary is growing, especially with children and youth, and we need an enthusiastic and experienced new team members to dream up creative, engaging ways to help kids and their families grow into more just and generous expressions of Christian spirituality ! To meet this goal, we are currently searching for our next Children & Youth Minister.
Last Sunday at the annual congregational meeting, the members present (in-person and online) unanimously voted to approve the proposed FY 2022-2023 budget and Board slate. It has been an exceptionally good year at OSC and we want to share the decisions we made together and invite you to celebrate with us.
Believe it or not, at the end of June we will reach the halfway point of our current 3-year Mission Commitment. We are asking for your feedback on the brief survey below. Please take a few minutes to fill it out by May 15th. Your feedback will be used to shape our budget and ministry plans for the new fiscal year, starting July 1st.
I am thrilled to be part of The Oceanside Sanctuary! It is humbling for me to be called to grow in my journey as a musician and Christian with you. As a child, I never thought it possible for a Queer Christian to step into the role of Music Minister. This is a dream come true—a prayer answered. God’s calling is evident in my life, and I am grateful for the opportunity to answer that calling with you.
As you know, for the past 3 months we have bene immersed in an effort to revise our Mission Commitment — the values, vision, mission, and priorities of our congregation. Since September we have engaged in a series of listening session, a congregation-wide survey, and one-on-one conversations with people inside and outside our church.
The Oceanside Sanctuary is a Congregational church. That means two things: Primarily, it means that rather than being governed by our denomination, we govern ourselves as an independent congregation.
