We want to update you on OSC’s involvement in the ongoing migrant crisis unfolding across San Diego County and how you can help with this urgent situation. Estimates are that over 7,000 asylum seekers have been dropped by Border Patrol at transit centers around the County over the past two weeks. On average, about 100 migrants are being dropped at the Oceanside Transit Center every day. This is likely to continue for several more weeks, if not months.

Announcing our new Youth & Children’s Pastor!
After two months of searching, we are thrilled to announce the hiring of our new Youth & Children’s Minister, Rev. Claire Watson. Overall we received a dozen applicants for this position, including several high quality candidates. After conducting initial interviews with the most qualified applicants, Claire was the clear standout, both in terms of qualifications and fit with OSC’s values and culture. Important Staff Changes at OSC
We write today with news about an important staff change at OSC. As many of you know, over the past year our Associate Pastor Alex Kip has reconnected with his artistic passion to pursue a career in film and, during that time, his acting opportunities have grown significantly. Accordingly, this past spring, we worked with Alex to change his role to an Outreach Minister, decreasing his hours and responsibilities to afford him more time and flexibility to pursue his acting career.
We really do need your help
As we enter the summer we are amazed and grateful for the good things happening at OSC! What seemed like a long, slow return from the COVID-19 Pandemic 18 months ago has transformed into a season of tremendous growth and blessing, with new families going our community every month.
June Is Membership Drive Month at OSC!

New Teaching Series: Building A Community of Love

Join us starting January 15th as we embark on a new teaching series called “Building A Community of Love.”
Help us reach our year-end fund drive goal by Dec 31st!
Along with Advent, Christmastide, and Epiphany, our year-end fund drive is upon us! But what exactly are we asking you to give toward? First and foremost, The Oceanside Sanctuary is a church! Every Sunday, we worship together in a safe and inclusive community of faith that welcomes all people. But that is not all we do!
November Pastoral Letter
Last Sunday’s 147th anniversary celebration was an especially sweet time. As we reflect on the gathering, we are struck by the remarkable community of welcome and care God is building at our church. For us, more than ever, last Sunday morning felt like home. Community seems to be our theme during this season of OSC’s congregational life.
